CPIML Leader Comrade Eusuf Mollah Gunned Down by Trinamool Goon in Bengal
Wipe out TMC’s Regime of Violence and Annihilation of Democratic Voices in Bengal

Com. Eusuf Mollah (40), a leading CPIML activist and Peasant leader from Nadia district, West Bengal, was murdered toady (21st March 2014) by TMC goons in broad day light. Com. Mollah and other comrades from CPIML were attacked by a herd of local TMC lumpens, at Charmatpur when our comrades were demanding rehabilitation for the villagers who lost their land situated in area vulnerable to river bank erosion. Previous attempts of threat and intimidation from the ruling party lumpens could not impede comrade Mollah’s commitment. Today a bunch of armed hoodlums of TMC suddenly attacked our comrades in a premeditated manner, and shot at Com Mollah from a close distance, killing him on the spot. Another CPIML activist comrade Sukhchand Gayen is admitted to hospital with serious bullet injuries.
Since the TMC came into power, a veritable reign of terror has been unleashed in West Bengal. Several left activists were brutally attacked and murdered, offices of Left parties have been torched and vandalised, violence in educational institutions against any voice of opposition has become routine. Now, just the before the General elections, TMC offensives are engorging ferociously to create a claustrophobic atmosphere of fear and terror. The entire spectrum of democratic and Left voices is now at the receiving end of all-out attacks by the ruling TMC in West Bengal. However, West Bengal cannot forget that the way CPI (M) institutionalised the culture of political violence and vendetta, of eliminating rival activists, including other Left activists. TMC has taken a leaf out of CPI(M)’s decades of political regimentation and violence in the state and has taken it to new heights. The struggle in West Bengal now, therefore, is not a struggle for restoration of a past order of things, but a struggle to get rid of the entrenched culture of political violence and assaults on democracy.
