Cotton University SU banishes ABVP from campus! A lesson for democratic voices everywhere!
A circular issued on 15 June 2020 by the The Student’s Union of Cotton University, the oldest and the most prestigious Educational Institution of Assam, says that it will abstain itself from recognizing any activity done under the banner of Akhil Bharatitya Vidyaarthi Parishad Cotton University Collective (ABVP). ABVP was first boycotted from the premises of the university at the time of Anti CAA protests and the CUSU wants to enlighten the students that the order stays and hence the status quo regarding the banishment of the collective, will be mantained indefinitely.
The CUSU hopes that the Student community will stand in solidarity with the decision made by it in their interest!
ABVP’s attacks on free thinking, free speech and people’s movement have been clear in all campuses including Jadavpaur, JNU, BHU etc. Their attacks on progressive thought and recent misadventures regarding courses in DU remind us of the Nazi book burning of 1930s. There must be total banishment of Sanghi goons from all educational institutions!
AISA salutes the spirit of the students of Cotton University which has dared to challenge the fascist Hindutva forces on the face, at a time when dissent is criminalized, by denouncing their student wing!
Revolutionary Salute to The Students of Cotton University!
STUDENT UNITY LONG LIVE!
