AISA UP State Vice President, Nitin Raj incarcerated again by UP Police!

Nitin Raj, UP State Vice President of AISA, and now a student of JNU, has been sent to jail for one week by court under political pressure of the BJP Government. He was actively leading the anti CAA-NRC-NPR movement in Uttar Pradesh, owing to which he was arrested by the UP Police. His parole ended on 5th January and the latest hearing 12th, after which he was sent to jail again, also cancelling the appeal for bail.

Nitin Raj, from a socially marginalised background, has been one of the most active in organising and leading the pro democracy, pro Constitution protests at Ghantaghar, Lucknow along with women who have been fighting to save citizenship and constitution from the anti-people CAA-NRC-NPR. He was picked up on 15th March, 2020, and charged with IPC sections 505, 427, 353, 283, 188, 149, 147, 145 and others sections along with a total of 22 named and 100-150 unnamed persons.

The UP Government led by Adityanath has resorted to complete destruction of Rule of Law and the Constitution. Nitin, along with many others have faced brutal treatment from the UP Police, aided by the Judiciary on the diktat of RSS-BJP.
