AISA Strongly Condemns the Horrific Atrocities on the Hindu minorities in Bangladesh
During the last few days, repeated incidents of torture and murder of people belonging to Hindu minority is being reported from Bangladesh. There are also incidents where the Durga Puja pandals were vandalized and defaced by majoritarian fundamentalist forces in Bangladesh. We condemn these ghastly acts unequivocally.
Attack on various minorities in South Asia is not a new phenomenon. The region has witnessed attacks on Hindu minorities in Bangladesh and Pakistan, on Rohingya Muslims in Myanmar and on Muslims in India. We must also remember that incidents like this should not be allowed to be used as an “excuse” to evoke and hatred and violence against the Indian minority. We have seen in past that one anti minority violence in one part of the subcontinent has been used to stoke communal tension on other parts.
AISA expresses solidarity with all those democratic forces in Bangladesh who have come forward to raise voices against his communal violence and madness against the minorities in the country. We demand that the Bangladesh Government should take strong action against the perpetrators of these hate crimes.
AISA appeals to all to raise voice against the diabolic communal forces across subcontinent and make all possible attempts to restore peace and communal harmony.
