Sadak Par School witnessed huge participation of school students
AISA-RYA have been running Sadak Pe School campaign in different villages, mohallas and tolas in Bhojpur against the dilapidated condition of government schools which are the only destination for children of poor and marginalised. School education in India introduces the structural inequality and casteism produced and maintained by our governments to a children in early days of their lives. Caste/class status of parents determine which school a kid will go to, whether there will be teachers, class rooms, proper mid-day meal, toilets, building or land for school. Private schools have become fertile ground of profit mongering by private bodies, while government schools starve of basic minimum infrastructure. The Right To Education Act of 2009 has proved to be a farce in ensuring primary education which is supposed to be a fundamental right of every children of India. The act fails to guarantee common neighbourhood school. After 8 years of implementation of the act, land for government schools remain captured by private entities. Kids of poor families are made to clean school premises and help in cooking mid-day meals.
When our governments are totally apathetic towards guaranteeing equitable and quality education to the children of the poor and marginalised, AISA-RYA have taken it up to start Sadak Pe School.
