Condemn the Brutal Murder of a Teenage Dalit Girl in Bihar by BJP Ally LJP (R) Leader’s Son!

The brutal killing of a 13-year-old Dalit girl in Bihar by Ranjay Kumar, alias Sunny Singh, son of the former district president of the Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas) (LJP-R), Manoj Singh, is not merely an isolated act of violence but a stark reminder of the systemic political crimes entrenched within the caste hierarchy, perpetuated and protected through the law’s inability to act against such atrocities. This heinous murder, following the victim’s resistance to casteist harassment during Holi, lays bare the violent entitlement of dominant castes and the impunity they enjoy under the patronage of political power structures.

The perpetrator was arrested only after questions were raised by MLCs (Members of the Legislative Council) from CPIML and other progressive forces.

The fact that the accused, Sunny Singh, is the son of a Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas) leader underscores the unholy alliance between caste privilege, patriarchy, and political power. The delay in arresting the culprit is not an anomaly but a structural problem of the system designed to uphold the interests of the dominant caste elite. The impunity granted to perpetrators of caste- and gender-based violence is fundamental to a political order that sustains itself through caste and gender oppression.

This tragic incident is a damning indictment of India’s democracy and a reflection of whose lives are deemed valuable. Dalit lives remain disposable in a system built on their subjugation. When Dalits dare to assert their dignity, even in the smallest ways—like resisting casteist slurs and demanding justice—they are met with brutal violence, as this case tragically demonstrates.

From Hathras to Muzaffarpur to Aurangabad, the ruling party has consistently failed to dismantle the structures of casteist violence. Dalit girls and women continue to bear the brunt of this systemic oppression, while their perpetrators are shielded by political connections and institutional apathy.

While demanding justice for this 13-year-old girl is essential, and the perpetrators of this heinous crime must be held accountable, justice cannot be reduced to mere arrests. It demands a reckoning with the political machinery that enables such atrocities. It requires us to confront the complicity of the legal system in caste violence. True justice will only be achieved through a radical reimagining of power structures, the dismantling of the caste system, and the political order that sustains it.

The struggle for justice is not just about this one person but about dismantling the foundations of oppression and building a future where dignity and equality are not privileges but rights for all
